NC State Wolfpack Tailgate Gear Checklist 2026
Carter-Finley tailgates are a season-long commitment. The fans who do it right have gear that survives sun, rain, and eleven home weekends. This is the checklist built from years of parking-lot experience.
The Shelter
A 10x10 pop-up canopy with weighted leg bags (never trust stakes alone in asphalt lots) is the anchor of every good tailgate. Get the 10x10 with a one-push frame — you’ll set it up in the dark before an 8 PM kickoff eventually.
The Kitchen
- A two-burner propane griddle — breakfast biscuits for eight, burgers by noon
- A hard-sided cooler for drinks and a separate soft cooler for food (open the drink cooler constantly; never the food one)
- A folding table with a shelf — prep space changes everything
- A trash container with a lid — leave the lot cleaner than you found it, Wolfpack pride
The Comfort Layer
Folding chairs with cup holders (obviously), but the upgrade nobody regrets: a low-profile recliner for the pregame show. Add a portable power station for the TV and you’re the most popular spot in the lot.
Wolfpack Essentials
Red everywhere. A quality flag for finding your spot in a sea of identical canopies. And layerable gear — September in Raleigh is 90 degrees, November is 40, sometimes in the same game.
